In Venice, Heuer fans will be treated to TAG Heuer’s automotive-related watches. As we all know, TAG Heuer and automotive racing go hand-in-hand. The Carrera was, after all, created expressly for racing, in particular, the Carrera Panamericana. The highlight of the Venice exhibit is the Autavia dashboard, which was developed for cars (AUTomobile) and planes (AVIAtion) – hence the name.
The excess acid has to burned out from the end of the tubes, which is done by hand in the way you see in the first image above. This is necessary so that the tubes can be hung and filled with gas later on. What you see above is the powder (in this instance, in green), that is poured into the tubes from above. The tubes are then bounced up and down a number of times to make sure that the powder is evenly distributed on the inside. The eight available colors are: red, orange, yellow, pink, white, green, ice blue, and blue.

Pushing various points on the edge of the dial (or in the center) activates features such as a compass, thermometer, altimeter, barometer (Meteo), chronograph, alarms, and second time zone. The Swiss ETA caliber E48.311 quartz movement also includes a calendar and back-light function. Unlike the Tissot T-touch Expert Solar wrist watch that is powered by light, the Pocket Touch is more traditional and will require a battery change (though it does have a battery end-of-life indicator).
The second watch to receive the all-new DUW 3001 is the Nomos Tangente Automatik, a new version of Nomos' award winning best seller. Originally designed in 1992, the Nomos Tangente is likely the physical icon of Nomos' Bauhaus aesthetic. While the automatic Nomos Tangomat has been available since 2005, it has a 38mm case, which is some 3mm larger than that of the hand-wound Nomos Tangente. The Nomos Tangente Automatik, thanks to the use of the DUW 3001, maintains the very-successful 35mm sizing of the Nomos Tangente but adds automatic winding. Even in adding automatic winding, the Nomos Tangente Automatik is only 0.3 mm thicker than its hand-wound older brother, coming in at a remarkably thin 6.9 mm.
The case back is glass and proudly displays the movement, which has a 40-hour power reserve. The automatic weight is very nicely engraved, supposedly echoing both a woven tapestry and the arches on the Crown Tower of King’s College at Aberdeen University, and the plates are finished with a Geneva wave and hand-polished chamfers and screw-heads. The case is crafted from 18k white gold and is 40mm wide, 49.45mm tall, and stands 10.3mm on the wrist.

Not all the way toward the end of the high-end part of the spectrum, but certainly closer to it than the center of the line. I would say that going up from from here are the high-end family of quartz movements you'll find in some of the ritzier Seiko dive watches, and from there you go to the very impressive 9F family of quartz movements in the Grand Seiko line. After that, you have the hybrid mechanical/quartz Spring Drive movements. But now I'm getting off topic.
However, by nature, the Arnold Schwarzenegger watches will be massive, both in size and scope. They will be Swiss Made with sapphire crystals, and containing both quartz and mechanical movements. We are talking about someone with so many major careers, and the brand will focus on three major eras of Arnold Schwarzenegger's life. First are his athletic bodybuilding days, next are his action hero actor days, and last is his time as a politician. Of course, some of these eras flow together, but these are the concepts behind the major product families which, according to the press materials, are:
If one could distill a tuxedo into wristwatch form, no doubt it would resemble the Piaget Black Tie "Vintage Inspiration," one of the brand's most anticipated offerings at SIHH 2015 - and it didn't disappoint when the ABTW team got their hands on it. True to its name, the Piaget Black Tie, like many of the most celebrated (and debated) watch releases in recent years, offers a new twist on a vintage model from the brand's history. But how it contemporizes its retro inspiration in its choice of movement affects the nostalgic impact of what proves one of the most elegant dress-watch offerings we've seen this year.

Carlos Rosillo: For me, the grail watch is the one that above all wakes up emotions. Besides the value of the materials and the craftsmanship, this kind of timepiece has to hold inside a high emotional weight. It’s the case for an inherited watch or an exceptional timepiece.
Getting the apps installed on your Apple Watch will happen through the App Store on the iPhone, using the Apple Watch section of the store. When it comes to sharing, being a smart device, the Apple Watch creates intimate ways to communicate with other people who have Apple Watches. It was referred to as a "Digital Touch": by pressing the button next to the Digital Crown one can access "Friends," where you’ll see thumbnails of the people you like to stay in touch with most. Tap to send a message, make a call, or share your heart rate with the friend you selected.
One of the cooler visual features of the Olio Model 1 is the visible magnetic charging coil on the rear of the case. The circular copper wire is not only an aesthetic element, but is a functional part of the charging system (there is a magnetic disc that attaches to the back of the case for that).
Price-wise, the Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster Orbital II Chronograph isn't cheap in the scheme of things most people buy on a regular basis, but it is very well-priced for what you get in terms of both features and quality. Ball has never tried to be a watch brand you are buying because of the name, but rather because you associate a certain look and feature set with the name. Ball watches, for the most part, make suitable daily wears, and their focus on things like functionality and ergonomics can only be truly appreciated when checking some of the competition. Of course, with their prolific designs, you never know what will come next, but for now, if you are looking for a feature-packed sporty chronograph, the Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon Spacemaster Orbital II Chronograph ref. DC3036C-SA-BK is a solid choice. Price is ,999. ballwatch.com
Necessary Data >Brand: JeanRichard >Model: Terrascope Hokusai Ref. 60650-21M652-FK6A >Price: ,100 >Size: 44mm >Would reviewer personally wear it: Yes >Friend we'd recommend it to first: Modern sport/dive watch guy looking for a good excuse to venture into JeanRichard territory. >Best characteristic of watch: Hokusai "Great Wave" style dial is both clever and aesthetically successful. Overall, Aquascope watch design is attractive and very useful. >Worst characteristic of watch: Even at the "reasonable" price of about ,000, this is still a lot to ask when weighing up the components and competition.

Hugh Taylor: If I were to have a limited knowledge of watch mechanics (speaking hypothetically, of course!), would you be able to quickly skim over the basics for me first?
Originally incorporated under the name "Waterloo," the city of Austin, Texas, has been a place of change since its origin in the 1830s. State capital? High-tech center? Live music capital? Austin is many things to many people these days. As a spread-out metropolitan area, you don't find a concentration of watch stores in a single area like you do in New York City (or Waikiki in Honolulu, for that matter). So you have to embark on a "search and enjoy" mission to find watch retailers such as Jack Ryan Fine Jewelry + Timepieces, which opened the doors to their intimate watch boutique in West Lake Hills in 2012.
aBlogtoWatch: What types of watches are popular in your market? What makes Austin a unique place to buy watches?
Winter Park is a very unique city to Central Florida. It is an upscale shopping & dinning district with an old world charm. Park Avenue (where Orlando Watch Co is located) is filled with upscale unique retail stores as well as fine dining.
